This bill of sale form is used for the purpose of buying or selling or vehicles in the State of Oregon. This form is limited to the boundaries of the given state and is not considered legal in other part of the country. Oregon DMV Bill of Sale form needs to be duly filled and submitted to Oregon Department of Transportation for it to be considered legal.
The steps mentioned below shall you fill the form correctly.
- In the first section of the form you need to describe the vehicle which is for sale and should include the following details; plate number of the vehicle, year of vehicle, make & vehicle identification number.
- This is an undertaking which states “I transfer all rights, title and interest in the above described vehicle to”, followed by the buyers details such as; the full legal name (last, first, middle), date of purchase along with the buyer’s complete address with the zip code. After that the full name of the seller (last, first, middle) needs to be entered followed by their signature and the date of release; hereby certifying that “the information given in the form is true to the best of their knowledge and that the seller also confirms that they owned complete rights of the product and that it is free from all liabilities including the mortgages, loans, tax burdens, etc. and that the ownership of the product is now transferred to the buyer.”
- The seller must notify the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicle of the sale within 10 days of the sale and the buyer should also apply for a title transfer within 30 days of the date of purchase to avoid late title transfer fees.
