Alabama bill of sale form is a generic form which is mainly used in cases when there is a purchase or sale of a valuable object, which is needed to be documented for safety of the same. This form holds a legal status within the boundary limits of the State of Alabama and cannot be used elsewhere. The form consists of detailed description of the product or item which is for sale making it secure for the buyer.
The steps given below are for the purpose of assistance to fill the form correctly.
- Begin the form with the name of the county in which the transfer is to take place, followed by the full and legal name (first, middle, last) of the seller along with the mutually agreed dollar amount acknowledging the transfer of the product and its ownership rights to the buyer.
- This segment of the form should consist the detailed description of the product which can and should include the year, make, model and identification number of the product followed by the signature of the seller along with the date certifying that “TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same unto the grantee, grantee’s executors, administrators and assigns forever. And the grantor, grantor’s heirs and assigns, do represent that grantor has a good and lawful right to sell said property and does covenant and agree to and with the grantee, grantee’s executors, administrators, and assigns, to warrant and defend title to the same against the claims of all persons. The grantor further represents and warrants unto the grantee that there are no liens, mortgages, judgments, or other encumbrances of any kind whatever against said property. Grantor agrees to pay the costs of collecting and recovering under said warranties in the event of their breach, including a reasonable attorney’s fee.”
- This document also needs to be notarized by the Notary Public to make it legal.
